What is your Refund & Cancellation Policy?
We understand that circumstances can change, and we want to handle refunds with fairness and transparency. Before the campaign ends You can cancel or adjust your pledge anytime while the campaign is live. No charges are made until the campaign successfully funds, so there’s no risk in changing your mind before then.
After the campaign ends, but before fulfillment begins If you need a refund after the campaign has closed but before manufacturing starts, we can provide a full refund minus payment processing fees (these are not returned to us by the payment provider).
Once manufacturing begins, materials and production costs are committed. At that point, refunds may only be available on a case-by-case basis, depending on whether your specific reward has entered production.
After fulfillment begins Once shipping or digital fulfillment has started, we’re no longer able to issue refunds. However, if your reward arrives damaged, defective, or incomplete, please contact us directly — we’ll replace or resolve it to the best of our ability.
Digital Rewards Digital rewards (such as PDFs or digital downloads) are considered delivered once they’re distributed and are non-refundable.
How to request a refund Simply contact us through BackerKit support or email [email protected] with your pledge details. We’ll respond as quickly as possible.

When will shipping and tax be charged?
We will collect your shipping details and apply shipping charges closer to the time of fulfillment when the items are ready to be shipped. Sales tax and VAT will also be collected at this stage if required by your country’s regulations.

Will there be a pledge manager, and how do I use it?
Yes, we will be using Backerkit as our pledge manager for this campaign. A few weeks after the campaign concludes, you will receive an email from Backerkit with a personalized link. Simply click the link and follow the instructions to confirm your pledge, select any add-ons, provide your shipping details, and finalize your order. Backerkit is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring a smooth post-campaign experience.

Do I need to know a lot about Vikings or Norway to play KVAD?
No! Kvad has a unique setting that is a snapshot of that time and place. It has its own map and society. You can learn everything you need to know about the setting in the ‘Nordveien’ setting of our book. If you DO want to know more about the source material, we will be putting together a reading list for those who are interested.

Will the PDFs be released before the physical versions ship?
Yes! All early backers will be sent a version of their digital rewards within Christmas, the rest will be sent the books in January. The Core Rulebook is done and the Veiviser is in progress, close to complete. Depending on the amount of stretch goals, multiple versions of the Veiviser will be sent.

Has AI been used for the writing or artwork?
No. Both the Norwegian version and the English version have been written 100% the old-fashioned way. Also the artwork is handpicked from our public domain cultural heritage from artists such as Christian Krohg. Lastly, any assets in the book design or on the page are traditional artworks bought from artists.

If I don't pre-order now, will all this stuff be available for purchase later?
The short - and blunt - answer: we’re not sure. The core rulebook will certainly be for sale in Norway, and the character/Skald. sheets will remain free forever as digital downloads. But as for the rest of the add-ons and international availability, much depends on our distribution and retail partners abroad.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
